Last updated: October 2026. This policy explains what data The Daily Prompt handles and — more importantly — what it deliberately does not.
What we do not do
No accounts, no logins, no sign-up forms. We do not set tracking cookies, do not build per-visitor profiles, and do not sell or share visitor data — because no per-visitor data is collected in the first place.
Data that stays in your browser
Reader personalisation — language memory, followed sections and saved stories — is stored entirely in your own browser's localStorage. It never reaches our servers. Clearing your browser's site data removes it completely.
Analytics
Page-view counts are measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and aggregate: no cookies, no fingerprinting, no identifiers, nothing per-visitor ever stored. Do Not Track is honoured.
Push notifications
If you opt in to the daily news alert, your browser-generated subscription endpoint is stored so the alert can be delivered to your device. Dead endpoints are pruned automatically, and you can turn notifications off at any time in your browser settings.
Third-party services
Pages load a few third-party resources: the Google Translate widget (reader-side translation), web fonts from Google Fonts, and hosting/analytics from Cloudflare. These providers may see standard request data (IP address, user agent) when serving those resources, governed by their own privacy policies.
Advertising
We may display advertising served through Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and read how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
