Jericho Repair Shop Launches to Combat Waste

A new free repair initiative launches this Saturday at St Barnabas CE Primary School in Oxford. Running from 10:00 to 12:00 BST, the event offers assistance with bicycles, electrical items, computers, clothing, and knife sharpening. Organizer John Mair launched the project to help residents avoid discarding broken goods, accepting donations to cover future advertising and venue rental costs.

Mair hopes to establish the Jericho Repair Shop as a recurring monthly fixture, pending sufficient public attendance. The initiative aims to serve as a community hub while promoting sustainability by encouraging repairs over replacement. Mair anticipates between 10 and 100 attendees for the inaugural event.
