Mohsin Naqvi to miss Asian Games cricket finals

Asian Cricket Council President and Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi will not attend the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 cricket finals due to prior commitments. The ACC confirmed his absence from the medal matches at Korogi Park, where India and Pakistan are set to compete for gold, while Bangladesh and Sri Lanka face off for bronze.

Naqvi, who also serves as Pakistan's Interior Minister, previously faced trophy-acceptance refusals from the Indian men's and women's cricket teams during past tournaments. Olympic and Asian Games committees now maintain authority over trophy presentation protocols for the concluding matches in Nisshin City.
