NDA Ally AINRC Wins Puducherry By-Poll

The NDA ally All India NR Congress (AINRC) secured victory in the Puducherry by-election, with candidate Ashok Anand winning the Thattanchavady seat by over 8,000 votes. The seat became vacant after Chief Minister Rangasamy chose to retain a different constituency following the April assembly elections.

Meanwhile, the TVK party is leading in Tamil Nadu's Dharapuram and Madurantakam by-polls, while the BJP is expanding its lead in Bengal. Amid these electoral developments, Delhi Police have issued warnings against unlawful protests, and several trains to New Delhi were cancelled ahead of a scheduled protest on October 10.

Editor's note: The brief includes irrelevant details about Delhi Police and train cancellations that are not in the source summary, though they are in the full text. It misses the specific turnout percentage.
