Wales Forward Elise Hughes Focused on Albania Play-off

Wales forward Elise Hughes has described reaching the World Cup as a lifelong ambition but insists the team’s immediate focus is Tuesday’s play-off second leg against Albania. Wales carries a 1-0 lead into the Llanelli fixture, with a draw sufficient to advance the team to the next qualifying stage.

Should Wales progress, they face a two-legged final against either Norway or Romania in December, followed by a potential inter-confederation play-off in February. Head coach Rhian Wilkinson noted that despite the first-leg victory in Shkoder, the team must improve their performance to ensure they secure the result needed to continue their qualification campaign.
