Former Selector Chetan Sharma Urges BCCI for Balanced Pitches

Former chief selector Chetan Sharma has called on the BCCI to provide more supportive wickets for bowlers during international matches. His remarks follow the ongoing India-West Indies T20I series, where batters have dominated, frequently posting totals exceeding 200 runs.

Sharma emphasized that while fans enjoy boundaries, healthy competition requires balanced surfaces similar to those used in domestic cricket. Additionally, he defended the inclusion of veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the national setup, asserting that their performance remains the primary metric for selection ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup.
