AMC Kips Bay 15 Theater Closing January 3

The popular AMC Kips Bay 15 movie theater in New York City will permanently close its doors on January 3. AMC CEO Adam Aron addressed the community in a letter, stating the company wishes to remain in the location but is being forced out due to the expansion plans of the adjacent NYU Langone hospital.

Aron noted that the hospital, which intends to grow its medical facility, has refused to engage with AMC regarding the theater's future. The closure marks the end of the cinema's operations in the Kips Bay neighborhood as the medical center moves forward with its development.
