Tamil Nadu to Launch Pilot Model Registration Hubs

The Tamil Nadu government has sanctioned five Model Registration Hubs (MRH) in Chennai, Chengalpattu, and Coimbatore districts at a cost of ₹7.84 crore. These pilot facilities will allow citizens to register property documents and marriages regardless of the specific Sub-Registrar Office jurisdiction.

Managed by a third-party service provider, the hubs will offer standard and premium registration services with fees ranging from ₹2,000 to ₹10,000. While the state plans to expand this jurisdiction-free initiative to 20 additional locations, all statutory registration processes will remain under the authority of the respective Sub-Registrars.
